Is QRKeep really free forever? Why?+
Yes. QRKeep is 100% free with no hidden charges, subscriptions, or credit card requirements. The tool costs very little to run because QR generation calculations run entirely inside your browser via client-side JavaScript. There is no heavy backend compute per request. Hosting on Cloudflare Workers edge infrastructure is supported by minimal, non-intrusive advertising to cover domain and bandwidth costs.
Do QRKeep codes ever expire?+
No, never. QRKeep codes are direct-encoded static matrix barcodes. Your URL or data is compiled directly into the black-and-white 2D geometry of the image. Because there is no intermediary redirect server or database record, the code remains permanently functional for life as long as your destination link exists.
What data types are supported (URL, text, Wi-Fi, vCard)?+
QRKeep is optimized for web URLs (https://, http://, and www.), allowing instant browser navigation. Standard QR code specifications also support plain text, Wi-Fi network credentials (WIFI:S:SSID;T:WPA;P:password;;), and vCard contact cards (MECARD / VCARD format).
Is my data stored, logged, or tracked?+
No. QRKeep follows a strict zero-data-logging architecture. Everything you type into the generator is processed locally in your browser's memory and is never transmitted to, logged on, or saved in our database. When someone scans your QR code, their scan goes directly to your destination link with zero telemetry or tracking from QRKeep.
Are there any usage limits or scan caps?+
No. There are zero limits on the number of QR codes you can generate, download, or print. Furthermore, there is no cap on how many times a printed QR code can be scanned.
What image formats can I export?+
You can download scalable vector SVG files (ideal for professional high-DPI print shops, signage, and merchandise) or raster PNG files. You can also copy the image directly to your clipboard.
How does error correction work?+
QRKeep uses Medium (Level M) Reed-Solomon error correction by default. This adds mathematical redundancy to the modular grid, allowing up to 15% of the code to be smudged or obscured while remaining 100% readable.
