Permanent, Private QR Code Generation for Everyone
Created by Rohit Bhatu · Hosted on Cloudflare Workers
1. Why QRKeep Was Created
In the modern web ecosystem, search results for “QR code generator” are dominated by predatory SaaS websites. These platforms create “dynamic” QR codes that quietly redirect through their intermediate servers. Users print these codes on thousands of flyers, business cards, restaurant tables, or event banners—only to discover 14 days later that their codes have been held hostage behind a $30/month subscription paywall.
QRKeep was created to fix this broken landscape. QR codes are mathematically defined, open international standards (ISO/IEC 18004). They do not inherently require server databases, user logins, or recurring subscriptions. By encoding data directly into the matrix geometry, QRKeep produces standalone files that work permanently without relying on our ongoing existence.
2. Our Engineering & Privacy Philosophy
- 100% Client-Side Computation: The QR matrix calculation and SVG/PNG rendering algorithms execute strictly inside your browser using client-side JavaScript. Your input strings and URLs are never transmitted to our backend.
- Zero Accounts & Zero Paywalls: We collect no emails, require no passwords, and do not maintain user databases. You paste, generate, download, and move on.
- High-Precision Vector Exports: We provide scalable vector SVG exports so graphic designers, print shops, and business owners can print razor-sharp codes at any physical scale without pixelation.
3. The Cost Model: How QRKeep Stays Free
QRKeep is deployed on Cloudflare Workers and global edge infrastructure. To keep the platform completely free for individuals, non-profits, and businesses around the world, we display minimal, non-intrusive advertisements served through Google AdSense.
Ad revenue directly offsets our domain registration, DNS management, and edge bandwidth costs. This transparent, ad-supported model ensures that we never have to introduce gated premium features, scan caps, or trial expirations.
4. About the Author & Open Web
QRKeep was built by Rohit Bhatu, an independent software engineer focused on building fast, lightweight, and ethical web utilities that empower users rather than trapping them in recurring subscriptions.
