PNG vs SVG: Choosing the Right Format for Print
Selecting the correct file type is crucial for print jobs. PNG is a raster format comprised of fixed pixel grids. If stretched beyond its native dimensions, the squares blur, reducing scan reliability.
SVG is a vector format containing mathematical definitions of shapes. It renders shapes using XML nodes. Since there are no resolution boundaries, SVGs remain razor-sharp at any size — from packaging stickers to billboards.
For general digital screens, a high-resolution PNG is excellent. For professional printing, vector SVG is always recommended.
